Besso tourist lodge is located on Nordmann River, in the middle of Hardangervidda National Park.
Besso was built in 1934 and is a traditional mountain lodge, known for its good food and friendly hosts.
During the summer and autumn you can experience traditional mountain farming, hunting and fishing, in a fabulous landscape with traces back to the Stone Age.
In winter the landscape is transformed into endless white plains – and remains equally adventurous. One can experience everything from sun and cloudless skies to gale and dense blizzards.
Hardangervidda provides everything nature has to offer! On this page you will find information about this wonderful place in the middle of Hardangervidda.
Summer 2016 we start the season friday 1th of July and close down sunday 14th of August.
Please pre-order your stay at firstname.lastname@example.org
Besso is known for its excellent cuisine and the menu is based on fresh produce from the local community. Fish from Nordmannslågen make up a large part of the menu. Fish cooked in different ways and is always a delight for the palate!
From Geilo you drive Highway 7 to Eidfjord, turn off at Dyranut, then proceed by road to Tinnhølen, about 11 km. The car is parked at Tinnhølen. From there the route to Besso on foot is in a nearly flat and very easy terrain.
